October Nights Images by kenne
October is the month that always reminds you why southeast Texas is a great place to live.
Add some great blues musicians, friends of Ken and Mary, a pleasant campfire evening in the woods of east Montgomery County – it just doesn’t get any better!
The Ken & Mary’s Blues Project continues to age like good whiskey (or wine, you choose your spirit), and every so often, they invite friends to stop by to sample their great blues brew.
Although there have been Project events without the Moe Hansum Band (MHB), few have not included Mike Durbin in the mix. This time, Chuck and Stephan B were with Mike, adding Sonny Boy Terry and Rich DelGrosso to the street version of the MHB, making it no longer “street legal.”
What an evening!

AWESOME!!! Thanks Kenne for archiving the event. Also thanks to Joy for taking charge of organizing and helping set out all the food . It was a perfect evening with friends and the show was HOT!! The new stage/deck looks great and the sound was awesome. Love the video clip of one of my favorite songs. Too bad you don’t have a sound bite of Mr V singing!!

I will be posting some other clips, but I did run out of disc space before Mr V’s stage appearance — only photos.

I’m reblogging this October 2008 posting in honor of Ken and Mary, who spent several days over the past weekend with us here in Tucson. It was their first visit, and we hope it will not be the last. Our friendship has been over 20 years. — kenne
Our new stage was broken in that night. Many great shows followed until we had to dismantle the stage and Blues Project last year. Bittersweet the memories. Mary
You guys created some great memories.
