Ike, 5:30 a.m., September 13, 2008   4 comments

It’s been a long night, and it’s not over yet.  At times, the rain against the windows sounds like sand hitting the windows.  We are still waiting for daylight, which should be in another hour and a half.  The weather will still be bad, but at least we will be out of the darkness.  This is really an intense storm!

Night Before Hurricane Ike, 9.11.08   Leave a comment

The Calm Before the Storm

It’s a very calm evening,

a time for taking in

the tranquility and peace

before Ike comes ashore.

If only we could bottle this

for use over the next few days.

Ike Comes To Texas, 9/11/08   Leave a comment

THIS IS A BIG STORM!

Only a Category 2 hurricane at this posting, the potential storm surge and rain can bring a lot of damage to the Texas Gulf Coast area.  The above image is already outdated since the latest projections show the trajectory more east headed for a direct hit on Galveston, then literary following a route up I-45 to Houston on up to Conroe, Texas.  We will continue to watch and see if the move east will continue.  Click on the above image to get more current local information.
