Revisiting Mt. Lemmon Wildflowers #4   Leave a comment

This summer, the Big Horn Fire caused so much damage to the National Forest
in the Santa Catalina Mountains remains closed to the public. Therefore,
hiking and photographing wildflowers in the Catalinas will not be in 2020,
which provides a good excuse to revisit some wildflower photos over the past ten summers.

JUST OFF THE PATH

What is the narrative of my life?
A squadron of clouds at dusk
ghosting the millennial sky?
Only now do I accept the plot
that frames the story I live,
the intensity that won’t elude me
while the thin rain tampers
with my hair, quiet
as the birches just off the path.
What is the narrative of my life?
I do not know because I am
in the middle of it.
