House in a Field of Lonely Dreams

Many lives,
shared this roof.
Many hands
worked the land.
Now forgotten
tired and worn
windows broken
doors unfastened
through which
no one enters
from the windswept
field of lonely dreams.

  1. Beautiful poem – thank you. My grandmother’s house and the pictured house could sure swap some stories!
