As we near the end of 2019, this is a reblog from December 2014, and we are back in Tucson on a cold (26 degrees) desert morning. — kenne

Becoming is Superior to Being

Sparrow,

Black-throated friend of the cholla

and the palo verde,

Ofelia sings for you

oversleeping lands.

The sun kisses your soft breast

lighting up her heart

wounded by giant machines

scattering the bones

of the past

in the blue sky

above the walking ghosts

of nature’s hands.
