Mental Health and Education   3 comments

As a former teacher, I praise every word in this posting. Teachers are in grave need of our support and respect. As a retired teacher, now volunteer naturalist, I spend time outdoors teaching kids about nature, the best job of my life. — kenne

  2. Excellent depiction of public education as currently progressing (it’s getting more so, not less!) My husband is a high school social studies teacher, and one thing he personally studies is the progression of student apathy for learning … quite a change since he began teaching. This has no single cause, no easy fix. But awareness for teachers/administrators and for all who vote on issues to do with funding teachers/schools it is important to know what’s happening! The mental health of the student population impacts the mental health of every student and teacher/administrator therein. This post lays it out clearly. Thank you for sharing.

  3. We are not treating our teachers well, they have so much responsibility, they whole the future in their hands. We need to step up and pay them a living wage and give them the support they deserve. Lovely article Kenne.
