FREE VERSE REVOLUTION

Here I am,

gliding

through the

In Between—

I captain

my ship

full

sail,

flitting

Inside

eye-blinks

just

to

glimpse

you,

Darling girl

with golden

hair.

You can nearly

see me

see you

with your

steel blue

eyes.

And nearly

must be good

enough,

Because

Your petal lips,

(formed in my womb)

peel gently back for

white teeth

I have

always

adored.

This poem is from Austin’s latest poetry collection, All The Beginnings of Everything, available now on Amazon and in Barnes and Noble.
