Ellen’s Graduation Speech   Leave a comment

Over the years as a higher education teacher/administrator I have attended a lot of graduations. From my experience, some of the better presentations came from teachers and/or graduating students. Often, one theme running through the talks is summed-up in the following quote (author unknown):

The future lies before you
Like a field of driven snow,
Be careful how you tread it,
For every step will show.

This morning I read a speech written by high school senior, Ellen Green. Although Ellen was not selected to give her speech, her proud mom, Anne Green posted the speech on her blog Sabino Canyon. Click here to read her speech. I think you will see that Ellen is leaving a wonderful trail as she chooses her future path. Her excellent speech is not a reflection of her skill, but of her attitude.
