A Desert Blue Northerner
On the inside looking outside,
just another beautiful desert day.
Brilliant blue sky,
accenting the earth’s colors,
being warmed by the sun —
that is till you step outside
confronted by the cold winds
of a winter “blue northerner,”
giving reason to evoke
the long hot days of summer.
