Breakfast with Ron Saikowski   2 comments

Before leaving The Woodlands, many of our friends expressed a wish to come visit once we settled in our new home in Tucson. Not questioning their sincerity, but knowing that being able to do so would have to compete with a lot of priorities, their desire to do so would be one of those “easier said than done” happenings. So, when Ron Saikowski said he would visit us in November, we knew he would. Now, anyone that knows Ron, knows that when he says he’s going to do something, he will — you can take it to the bank. But, what made this a real certainty was that Ron’s uncle, who lives in Tucson, would be celebrating his 91st birthday in November.

After arriving in Tucson this weekend, Ron called to see when we would be able to get together. We decided on doing breakfast/brunch and Joy and I would select the restaurant. Later, I call Ron letting him know that breakfast would be where the best food in Tucson is prepared, la joy’s in the foothills.

As always, the food, atmosphere and service was worthy of its five-star rating. And, of course, the conversation was such that Joy couldn’t get a word in, not that we meant to be rude.

We were very pleased to have Ron as our first non-family guest and look forward to his future return, hopefully with Marty. (She had elderly parent care priorities this time.)

A big thanks to Ron for taking the time from his busy family schedule to visit with us.

  1. Definitely a FIVE STAR facility with wonderful hospitality, outstanding food, and plenty of characters. I will be back for my Uncle’s 92nd Birthday and look forward to some more the the Top turner hospitality! I am hoping that Marty will be able to accompany me next November since we have successfully re-located her Mom to an assisted living facility in The Woodlands.
