O Mary Don’t You Weep   3 comments

O Mary Don’t You Weep is an old spiritual covered by many e.g., Pete Seager, The Caravans, Aretha Franklin, Burl Ives and Bruce Springsteen, to name a few. The song dates back to before the Civil War, and became very popular during the civil right movement in the 50’s and 60’s. The song is very inspirational and even more so in this amazing rendition by  Theresa Andersson this past spring in New Orleans  at the Le Petit Theater.
