Heading Back to Texas for a Birthday Party In Gruene, Texas
Leaving Delafield, we head south into northern Illinois, driving into storms as we reach Bloomington/Normal for the night. 
Since we will be leaving for Tulsa in the morning, the storms and nighttime allows little time to check out the old home stead and David’s birthplace. Who knows, there may be another opportunity.
What a perfect time to be driving through the central Illinois prarie, with the corn high and beginning to shows tassels. I love the images!
We are making good time, next arriving at the Cherokee Casino Resort outside of Tulsa. The next morning, we make a quick visit to the campus of Oral Roberts University. Virginia was pleased with our including this stop along the way to Texas.
Before going on to Gruene, we stay outside Fort Worth for the evening.
