Don’t Call Me Sweety!   1 comment

DON’T CALL ME SWEETY!

When I’m old and weak

Don’t call me sweety,

No “elderspeak” for me.

You may think you’re being kind

But it’s not a good moment

When dignity is left behind.

Why is it that many women in the service business like to call me “sweety”? I wrote this little ditty in 2008, and I still find it very annoying. — kenne
