Taliesin West, Home of The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Scottsdale, Arizona — Panorama by kenne

“No house should ever be on a hill or on anything.
It should be of the hill. Belonging to it.
Hill and house should live together with each the happier for the other.”

– Frank Lloyd Wright

  1. Love your photos of Taliesin West, Kenne. I love it there, although I doubt I’ll ever be able to visit again. I understand my old friend Steven Nemtin had passed away. He was just a year older than me, I believe. He was with the original Frank Lloyd Fellowship and worked in Iran on that famous project as well as designing health care and other facilities. I was at Taliesin West when he showed me a house he was building out of straw bales, the first of those that I had ever seen. I wrote a poem about him that has never been published. But I have always considered him a great man. Anyway, thanks for this photo.

    • Thanks for your background on Taliesin West. Having lived in the Chicago area for twenty years, I experienced firsthand some of Wright’s architecture and, on several occasions, visited Taliesin in Wisconsin. Then, in 2010 when we moved to Tucson, going to Taliesin West was on my to-do list.
