I tried unsuccessful to identify this bird I photographed in the trees near the Tuichi River in the Madidi National Park.
A very attractive bird about the size of a crow.

    This looks like a Yellow-rumped Cacique (Cacicus cela).

The blackbird is a Yellow-rumped Cacique (Cacique Lomiamarillo).It ranges from Venezuela (all of the country), Eastern Colombia and eastward (Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana) Easter Brazil, is rarely seen in easternmost Ecuador, common in Eastern Peru and Northern Bolivia (Madidi). Called a Chiro in Quechua.. Has various raucous cackles and whistles. Usually nests in colonies in high tress not endangered by predators. Cacique means ‘chieftain’.. Was last seen by my wife and I in Venezuela in the lower canopy jungle at the base of Roraima in 2012..
