Red-winged Blackbird   2 comments

This robin-size blackbird is easily spotted because of a red shoulder patch on each wing. The red-winged blackbird can be found in the desert southwest near fresh and saltwater marshes, along watercourses, water hazards on golf courses, and wet roadsides.

  1. Agelacious phoeniceus! I used to take my inner-city high school Bio students to a certain marsh in southwestern Pennsylvania. They, tough as they were, admired this bird much, strong, fearless, strutting its stuff on a high dry stick in the middle of the marsh, and sporting fancy, fancy duds and colors, Ken. Thanks for sharing and evoking good memories.

  2. You are most welcome. Thanks for the memories.
