From Harry James to Maynard Ferguson, from Dizzy Gillespie to Clifford Brown, Wynton Marsalis and Arturo Sandoval, I’m drawn to trumpet players. Couldn’t agree more. The Blues gave birth to Jazz and Rock ‘n Roll, and probably all started with gospel.
