In December of 1983, I purchased our first BMW, a 318i coupe, which we had for twenty-five years.

In December 2005 we bought our 328i coupe, which we still have in our garage.

This past Friday Joy replaced her 2004 Infiniti FX35 and with a 2018 BMW X1. This makes the fourth BMW in our family since 1983. (We had a 1995 M3 for four years in the mid-1990’s.)
The purchase price for the X1 included a “loyalty” discount, which by buying the new SUV through Costco combined to make for a real deal on the X1. As a result, the price for the X1 was about the same as what we paid for the FX35 in 2003 — not bad!
We will miss our Infiniti FX35, which had over 180,000 hard-working, loving miles.

Congratulations to a wonderful car!
It’s easy to be loyal to a fine auto manufacturer.
I agree.
