Mexico

I parted
like a note divided
in search of itself.

I looked
in the colors of night
for day’s shadows.

I hunted
rivers lights
in old dreams.

Double essence so closely bound
tightrope of my natural order.

Mexico.

Sometimes I think of you
on afternoons like this
An old distress comes over me.

Serch for paths of earth
at the edge of the depth.

On warm banks
blue-feathered herons
cultivate red pearls.

There is no time for weeping
if you are to live in me.

Memories were never
the liquid measure of love.
