Wow I have never seen these and did not know that they existed . How do the survive in the heat.
They find a dark place, generally underground. Because of the sand on the tortoise’s back, he/she may have rolled over recently or just come out from underground.
I guessed they must keep in the shade or underground. You must think me very silly. I don’t know much about tortoises 🙂
Not sure why I am so attracted to these creatures. Perhaps it is the fact that they carry their home with them, so are much like a gypsy in a small camper. They can travel at a slow pace and settle anywhere.
