High In The Canyon — Images by kenne
High in the canyon
stands the fool on the hill
Watching the setting sun,
while chanting the reflection –
“Use me while you can,
for if you but blink,
I will be gone
no more on this watch.”
Paraphrasing a Theodore Roosevelt quote:
I do not believe
there ever was any life
more attractive
to an active older man
than life in the canyon.
It is a fine, healthy life, too;
opening new doors —
enjoying life to its fullest,
moment by moment.
