Desert Tortoise
The Desert Tortoise is Dying out,
When I hear about their history I want to cry and shout,
Off-road vehicles are driven through their home,
To look for a new one they have to roam,
Their habitats have been destroyed,
I think the tortoises are sad and annoyed,
Even though the desert looks lifeless,
There are animals out there that are helpless,
If they die others will too,
Because living things are connected like paper and glue,
Everything in this world is linked,
So we need to help them before they’re extinct.

Kenne, when we were learning about tortoises from the Desert Museum with the intention of keeping one, they said that it was a good idea to have solid or opaque barriers all round. If the the critters can see through or beyond the barrier, they will just keep trying to dig through, under, or around. Very frustrating. Looks like yours may have a case of the “want out”s.

Good point, Dan. I must have not caught that in the training. Most of the time the tortoise is in other parts of the yard under things. When he goes up by the gate, he will try to get it a couple of times, then head away. This is more of resent thing, so I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
Thanks for your informed feedback.
I love Tortoises. The shot of him yawning is priceless.
Yes, thanks for the comment.
Your pictures are quite delightful. Isn’t the shell of the tortoise a beautiful design of nature? In our area, the box turle seems to be disappearing. When my sons were younger, they would bring them home quite often, but now I don’t even see them along the road or in the fields.
I concur. Thanks for commenting.
What had he done with his key??
Like me, he’s still looking for it.
