  1. Kenne , I posted a private message on your fb wall a few days ago that you have not read yet so I will repeat it here. I hope you can and will help me leave as best quality audio and video as we can of our friend Gene Kelton  for any blues researchers of the future. There exists a handful of hand held videos recordings of Gene with camera audio. We are fortunate to have video, that you took, and audio that my son captured..  Not the best capture being mobile and a small stage but way better than camera audio and the best we have with available video. You ask what I needed, what would be best is uncompressed and high resolution copy of original. I believe you lost some of your video downloading it, I hope that is not the case because I would like to get it all from 8/8/08, we recorded the whole show and hopefully we can get something good put together. If so I would like to share it with the world but still protect it. Not 100% sure how, but my intentions are for people to view it and share it with friends, but not used without permission from us with Joni in charge. So I guest I need a dvd, if this is possible please reply.  Thanks Rick Rogers

    P.S. I know we are as for apart as two people can be on political views and some of my fb posts were unkind to others but the unkind words were not mine, but I am guilty of passing them on. I regret that and have refrained from doing so for some time. I maybe slow but I am not dumb. If any of my post offended you I apologize. I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs and deserve respect, without it we will never get anywhere.

      I responded earlier on my iPhone, but for some reason it didn’t go through, so sorry for the delay.

      Got you previous message and I have been working on preparing a DVD for you. For some of the videos, I no longer have the original clips (very large files that I deleted after making a movie, from which I then made a smaller digital reproduction for YouTube. I can send the larger files.

      I try to manage my files, but wthl all the photos and videos I have I know now I should have done a better job.

      Additionally, I have been working on some tapes of videos I have of Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists activities, so another delay.

      You have never offended me. I have a lot of friends that don’t share the same politics, so I learned a long time ago not to take disagreements personally — I only wish that was true of everyone.

      The important thing is you and I have more in common than differences, not the least of which is a love for the Blues and MGK. I dearly loved that guy and I feel he felt the same way. I could really relate to so much of where he was coming from, both of us having been raised in the south. Just because he was a musician and I’m not, and I have a PhD and he didn’t doesn’t mean we didn’t have a lot in common — that’s all surface bullshit. He and I were very comfortable in our sometimes parallel worlds, which is what friendship and love is all about.

      Another thing, I still have video of the testimonials done at KPFT. (I think. . .) There’s a lot of good stuff there, but more personal than some may like — it was an emotional day.
