We read of art being vandalized, but what is it when we vandalize nature’s art in the name of art? I saw this alone the Romero Pools trail Friday. At first I thought it was “cute,” and why not,it’s a smiling face. But, the more I thought about it the more I began to think; How sad.
What do you think?

I completely agree with your views. On the first look it’s a funny face, but then, when you think about it, someone lacked respect for nature and things alive.

Some prickly pear do have holes, but this just seemed too unreal — somebody trying to be cute!
I came across a heart shaped prickly pear near the creek, above the dam, near the riparian area that had holes in them. At first I thought it was vandalized, full of holes, but it looked like a fungus may have attacked it. Then upon sleuthing around the area I found more. But it most definitely was not smiling at me!!! 🙂 (I posted a pic on my blog)
