Potted Cactus In Bloom — Images by kenne
Upon return from the Cubs spring training in Mesa last evening, we found one of our potted cactus plants in bloom — not to be outdone by the many cactus out in the desert in bloom, as noted in the earlier posting — http://kenneturner.com/2012/03/27/capturing-the-moment-cactus-blossoms-along-the-trail/
These beautiful blossoms don’t last long, so by the morning sunlight, some were beginning to close.

Do you know what kind of cactus this is? I have the same sort of cactus and I’m trying to figure out it’s scientific name.
Night-blooming cereus, which covers a number of nigh-blooming cactus. I had one for almost 20 years in Texas before moving to Tucson — left it behind and got another one here.
